A colour word for colour blind users: Every colour gets a plain word like dark green, beige or pink, and the nearest named colour, with a button that reads it aloud. Useful for matching clothes or sorting cables.
Accurate names, not just close numbers: The nearest named colour is chosen with CIEDE2000, the international standard for how different two colours look to people, so the name matches what you see.
Correct for room lighting: Warm bulbs make everything look yellow to a camera. Point at white paper and press Set white from paper, and the colours are corrected for that light.

How do I find the colour of something with my camera?

How accurate is a camera colour picker?
It shows the colour your camera sees, and the light changes that. Daylight and white paper calibration give the truest results. For exact paint matching, use it as a close starting point and check a sample.
Can colour blind people use this to identify colours?
Yes. Each colour gets a simple word such as red, brown or light blue, plus the nearest named colour, and the speaker button reads both aloud.
What is the difference between HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK?
HEX and RGB are the codes screens and websites use, HSL describes the same colour as hue, saturation and lightness, and CMYK is a rough starting point for print.
Why does the colour keep changing slightly?
Cameras adjust exposure and add a little noise every frame. Readings are averaged and steadied, and Pause picture freezes the frame so the numbers stay put.
Is the camera picture saved or uploaded?
No. The picture is only read on your device while the page is open. Nothing is recorded, and only the colours you save are kept, in this browser.
