How to use

  1. Type your name, bio or caption in the box.
  2. Every style updates as you type. Pick a group like Cursive & gothic to narrow the list, and add a decoration if you like.
  3. Tap a style to copy it, then paste it into your profile, post or chat.
  4. Have fancy text that a form will not accept? Switch to Back to normal text and paste it in.

Frequently asked questions

How does a fancy text generator work?

It is not a font. Unicode includes many letter-like characters, such as mathematical bold letters and circled letters. Your text is swapped for those characters, so the style stays when you paste it anywhere that supports Unicode.

Where can I use fancy text?

Most social profiles, bios, display names, captions, comments and chat apps accept it. Some sites block special characters in usernames, and search engines may not match fancy text to normal words.

Why does fancy text show as boxes?

The device viewing it has no font containing that character. Bold, italic and cursive styles are supported almost everywhere; rare symbols can appear as boxes on older phones.

Is fancy text accessible?

Not always. Screen readers may read fancy letters one by one or skip them. Keep your name and key information in normal text too.

Why does my bio count more characters than I typed?

Many fancy letters take two units in the encoding apps use internally, so some apps count them twice toward a limit. The count on each style shows both numbers.
